We Need Help With Data collection

by samcera on Thu Jan 03, 2013 11:00 pm

Hey everyone,

We are looking for people who can spare a few hours and help us to collect data in an excel sheet (or someone who can write a script that does it automatically ;)) Of course no one wants to work for free, so in return you'll be getting MIDIs:

For 250 rows you'll get a 2012 MIDI pack.
For 1000 rows you'll get a complete MIDI pack of all MIDI files on the site.

A row can take anywhere between 10 seconds and 1,5 minute, depending on how easy the data is to find. But my average so far is about 3 or 4 rows per minute.

We need about 7200 rows checked, so it's a lot of work. Whatever is left I'll do it myself, but it'll take a few evenings a week the next month. So any help is appreciated! :)

Drop me a PM, respond on facebook or send an email to info@nonstop2k.com if you are up for it.

Cheers

Actually I need data from beatport, based on the tracks that are in our archive. My thought was to do that manually, but that's just too much work I reckon haha. What we need is: key, bpm, year, label and url of the track. :)

Should be possible (if i would have a beatport api key ^^ http://api.beatport.com/ )...but it's impossible to cover all tracks because beatport doesn't list all ;)

Yeah that's true, but the majority are there so that will be good enough for now. Would I need to manually search for the tracks there on do you reckon a script could do that nicely too? Because I would like to have the url of the original release, not all the other releases.

That API is interesting, but I guess Nonstop2k would be seen as commercial right? Cos we have ads..

The non-commercial license can be used to test stuff.

We can apply for a license later. I'll have some news for you after 21st.
