Nonstop2k

History

The very beginning
Nonstop 2000 was the first, the largest, and most active dance MIDI/community website on the internet, opening it's website doors in early 2000 hosted by Ralph Engle. The site went to earn many net awards from the likes of Angelfire, About dot com, and many others, and was eventually closed in 2003 due to the overload of bandwidth usage and high demand with regards to MIDI requests.

In 2002 John started a MIDI thread at the well known tranceaddict.com forums. This thread quickly become one of the most popular threads in the music production section. Unfortunately after a while most links to MIDI files where dead and that's when trance-midi.tk came to be. Starting with a mere 80 MIDI files and just 60 visitors a day the site grew rapidly to a place with over 800 MIDI files and nearly 300 visits per day.

The return of the legend
It was March 2005 when Ralphe and John decided to join forces and the same month a renewed Nonstop2k website saw the light. Again the site grew larger and larger and new functions we're installed, like the forums, a proper MySQL database (thanks to deydesigns.com) and the first competition. However the success only lasted until October, when the server of the hosting company at that time crashed and the backups couldn't be restored. To top it all the host went bankrupt and Nonstop2k went down for two weeks. At the end of the month the MIDI database was up again, but it took until April 2006 before the forums we're finally brought back to life.
A new domain

Our official domain
It didn't came easily but on November 30 2006, one of the most remarkable days in Nonstop history, the old midi.johnsteenbergen.com url was finally substituted by a proper .com address: nonstop2k.com. After 7 years, there finally was a true home for Nonstop2k!
Establishing its name

From this moment on Nonstop2k has established its name as MIDI website and Producer's Resource. The MIDI database has grown rapidly to what it is today. We have also introduced soundsets and interviews with producers. All of this wouldn't be possible with our most precious resource... the friendliest producer community on the internet! :)
