As of now, the August suggestions is locked and closed. 48 suggestions have been shared among us. I have narrowed it down

Chenlab, you are the first to mind why remixes are in the list. Yes I agree they should be originals and for the most part they are.
Neither John nor I have stated that only originals must be presented as suggestions for tracks, so which ever mix, whether original or not, are accepted as suggestions. As stated earlier no one seems to mind about it. I.e: If Blue Tente suggested the A&B mix of Oceanlab's sirens of the sea, that's because he probably enjoys that particular mix the most, and good for him Is it g4y? Not really, remix vs original is a non issue imo, as long as people are having fun producing, I believe we should all look forward to hearing great remixes by everyone whether or not the source is a remix or the original, so in the end I do not think it is a big deal and it should not be micro managed to the point of auditing the track suggestion. Then again we can always vote on that as well in the future It's all good bro

I agree about Australia.it's always nice to experiment new artist by remixing their own track.
Side B track of that release 'As One' is a masterpiece.

However i think it's hard for me to take part of August competition.I have a remix to submit for a label after 4 weeks.

Dreamcatcher - lovely track, not sure I can top the stoneface and terminal mix tho....
Redline Highway - One of my all time favs, might have a crack at this even if it doesn't get the vote
Australia - nice track, always wanted to see if anyone could do anything different with it

id have to agree with chen's argument with remixing a remix.

the whole point of remixing a track is to make it sound original by your own standards, and not just a copy of someone elses work, if it was more or less a copy, you'd be making a cover and albeit a cover is very similar to a remix in modern standards, lets take a look @ the reasons as to why a remix is coined a remix.

Songs are remixed for a variety of reasons:
to give a formerly popular song a second chance at radio and club play
to create a stereo or surround sound version of a recording where none was previously available
to improve the fidelity of an older recording in which the original mixdown tape has been lost or degraded
to alter a song to suit a specific music genre or radio format
to alter a song for artistic purposes

now id like to point your attention to the last bullet point

, my whole notion of remixing a track is to make it original as possible, but still pertaining back to the roots of the original mix so as it can be distinguished. A remix is always going to be a remix, and I'd rather my remix sound original, rather than sounding like somebody else's remix
